Set of 9 Rare modernist sixties glasses from the “Drink In” glass service designed in 1969 by Claus Josef Riedel for the Riedel Glass factory in Kufstein Tirol Austria. In quality these glasses match the Joe Colombo Asimmetrico drinking glasses, designed in 1964 and made by the same factory. The glasses are mold blown, oval, thin and delicate and have finger rests on the smallest sides. All glasses are individually signed with the etchmark CJR, which stands for Claus Josef Riedel. The moulds may have been made in a hammered metal as you can see, especially on the larger glasses, a hammered or “battuto” surface. I can’t find similar anywhere. They all have the Riedel marking from Germany on the base. Some lucky modernist collector is going to get these pretties! Each measures 4 7/8″ x 2.5″ x 1.5. No damage of any kind.
