MayCeiling Light Original Atomic Mid 20th Century Moulded Pink & Gold Glass Pendant
An Vintage Moulded Glass Atomic Era Sputnik Ceiling Light Pendant. The light has an original tapering Cylinder Lampshade with a flared top – The colour is pale pink with some stippled texture in the finish, the light is sectioned by clear glass lines picked out on the vertical by hand painted gold line borders, the lampshade has great looking Atomic era 1950s detailing. The decorations in the glass provide an interesting lighting effect when lit and in use. The quality moulded glass shade is heavy and is Typical in construction of mid 20th Century lampshades. The long length of earthed wiring is held in position by a substantial bulb holder mounted modern brass cord grip. The bulb holder and wiring are modern and earthed. The light is also supplied with a brass ceiling rose with a cord grip fitted which can be adjusted to shorten the drop of the light. Please see my images for the best details. Shade age is 1950s – 1960s. Longest Drop is 153 Cm – Max Shade Diameter is 19 Cm – Pendant height 29 Cm including cable grip. Condition is very good, the light works well and is free of damage. A couple of very small marks from age along with marks & bubbles in the glass from manufacture. Bulb holder &Wiring are new & earthed. Ceiling rose and cord grips are new. The light works perfectly. A Vintage late 1950s early 1960s Mid Century Glass Ceiling Light Lampshade. The lampshade has an iconic Sputnik Atomic era shape and design. The lampshade is a single drop pendant made from glass for fitting to an existing pendant. The Lampshade is made from white cased glass with a swept design and hand applied Atomic Era Sputnik decorations in Black and Yellow that are very much of the late 1950s era. The lampshade looks excellent when lit. Please see my images for the best details. Age is mid 20th century period. Height is 22.5 Cm – Shade Diameter is 20 Cm – Fitting hole is standard UK 2.8 Cm Condition is good for age – Points to note….. The Lampshade has only very small marks and signs of life and use. No chips or damage, Minor roughness to opening. A couple of small manufacturing marks and imperfections including an area of slight roughness near a yellow decoration which looks to have been from manufacture, maybe from a piece of decoration being removed – Please see my last image.
