When the egg is sitting on the gold metal base. It stands 26 1/2” inches high. Also the metal base is 9” inches in diameter. Monumental MID CENTURY ITALIAN MODERN BAROVIER ART GLASS VASE
Fine and very large 1950s vintage Murano Barovier art glass vase. This monster measures 12″ high, 13 3/4″ wide and 7 3/4 deep. It weighs 13 1/2 pounds. I believe this Barovier work is referred to as Zebrati and is an exceptional example in execution and size. This work is comprised of thick vertical clear glass ribs. A dark purple band spirals from the base with gold inclusions between each purple band all the way from base to top.. It is in very good condition but with the following condition issues. There is some wear to the top of most of the lobes at top of vase. There is one small chip to the top of one lobe at top of vase. There is a small chip to the base as it curves around to the flat foot (last two photos for that small base chip). Normal wear and scratching to base. Considering the scarcity and size of this masterwork, the condition issues are forgivable and minor. Questions always welcome and thanks for looking.
