Venetian or Murano Pair of 7 Topaz Goblets Toasting Glasses 19th Century. A pair of Excellent 19th Century Venetian Goblets. Each of these Goblets has a deep, rich topaz bowl, lower stem and foot. The bowl is connected to the lower stem by a black, hourglass shaped Avolio on either side of the Knop of opaque yellow glass cased in clear. The foot is attached to the lower stem with a Merese. The presence of the Merese and the way the foot is applied leads me to believe that these are mid to late 19th century examples. Also note the striations in the foot and the presence of seed bubbles in the glass. Each goblet has two punty marks; one centered on the foot’s lower surface, and the other centered inside the bowl. This is a typical 19th century and later process that results in paired punty-marks on one object. SIZE: Each is 7″ tall and 3-1/2″ across the bowl and across the foot (17.8 x 8.9 cm). They weigh 140 to 145 grams. CONDITION: Both are in EXcellent condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches or repairs. As always, I unconditionally guarantee that you will be satisfied.
