Stunning display and representation of the work of pioneer master glass artist Vernon Brejcha. This unique piece of art glass is a beautiful work of art in person. Sunset in the clouds prairie scene design. Free form, oblong shape to goblet’s bowl. Amber glow in color with light white and sky-blue swirling clouds. The photos are deceiving making the glasses appear blurred, but it is the artist’s cloudy effect by design. Round, solid base appearing sometimes amber, red, black. Bubbles floating inside the stretched clear stem. Semi-rough and polished pontil base. Etched signature Brejcha on bottom. A wonderful piece of history and example of skillful technique & design by a pioneer of the American studio art glass movement. SIZE: 7 3/4″ tall; 2 1/4″ x 2 3/8″ wide opening at top; 2 1/2″ wide base; 9 1/2 around; Weight: 1 lb. AUTHENTIC: Signed on base by the artist Brejcha. Believed an earlier work circa 1970s. Vernon Brejcha (1945-) is considered one of the pioneers in the contemporary art glass movement. His works are collected in the Smithsonian, the Museum of Contemporary Crafts in NY, LA County Museum, The Wedgewood Museum in England and 40 other museums worldwide in addition to galleries and private collections. He was a student of America’s renowned master of art glass, Harvey Littleton, with contemporary Dale Chihuly. It is said Brejcha and Chihuly have collected each other’s works over the years. Brejcha was one of three artists chosen to represent the United States at the International Exhibition of Glass in Kauazawa, Japan.
